The HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention program is funded by the California State Office of AIDS. Educational presentations are provided community-wide with emphasis on reaching youth, ages 13 to 19, and women of child-bearing age and their partners. Presentations are routinely given at the Amador County Jail and various Alcohol & Drug programs (including the Drinking Driving program.
Collaboration is maintained with the Amador County Unified School District for Peer Education programs.
A speakers are available to the community for educational HIV/AIDS presentations, both for general awareness and for on-site occupational exposure presentations to companies. The number to call for scheduling a speaker for your group is: (209) 223-6407.
